What is Filter Unknown Callers Out Of Recents?
Turning on Unknown Callers stops numbers that are not in your contacts from cluttering your Recents. Their missed calls and voicemails are moved to a separate Unknown Callers list you can check when you feel like it.
This is useful when you keep missing genuine calls because your recent call list is buried under numbers you do not recognise. It is a sorting change, not a block, so nothing is discarded.
If a number in that list turns out to be someone you want, open the Phone app, tap the filter button, tap Unknown Callers, then tap Mark as Known next to the call. To undo that later, tap Contacts twice, tap Other Known, open the number and tap Mark as Unknown at the bottom of the card.
How do I do it?
- Open the Settings app.
- Tap Apps, then tap Phone.
- Turn on Unknown Callers.
- Check the list later in the Phone app under the filter button, then Unknown Callers.
