What does *#591# do?

Multiple Subscriber Profile is specified in 3GPP TS 22.097 and appears in TS 22.030 Annex B with service code 59n, where n runs from 1 to 4. It lets one SIM carry up to four separate subscriber profiles, each with its own number and its own supplementary service settings, which is how two line business SIMs worked in some markets. Replace the final digit to interrogate profiles 2 through 4.

This is genuinely the closest thing the specification offers to a multi line or alternate number interrogation, and it is the honest answer to the common question of whether an MMI string can read back your own phone number. There is no standard MMI code that returns your MSISDN. Any list claiming otherwise is describing a carrier specific USSD service, not a 3GPP procedure.

US carriers do not sell MSP. Dual line on iPhone is achieved with a second physical SIM or a second eSIM profile instead, which is a completely different mechanism.
