What does *332*0000# do?
Service code 332 is BOIC-exHC, Barring of Outgoing International Calls Except Those Directed to the Home PLMN Country. It only means anything while you are roaming on a foreign network. Calls back to the United States stay open, calls to the country you are standing in and to any third country are refused.
It was designed for exactly one problem, which is a traveller running up third country roaming charges. On US carriers with modern international day passes the economics that made this useful have largely gone, and so has the provisioning.
